Ever since I was a kid I’ve loved to draw and create. The older I got I learned that I wasn’t very good at drawing but I loved to create designs and patterns. When I got to high school, my art teacher introduced me to the world of graphic design and I knew that that was what I wanted to do.
I went to Durham College in Oshawa, ON where I received an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design and participated in a 6 month internship with the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club. When I graduated, I returned home to Corunna, ON and got my first design job at the Sarnia Journal Newspaper. I was also able to secure a job at Lambton College as a Graphic Designer for the Research & Innovation Department. I left the newspaper after 5 years and moved on to be at the College on a full-time basis.
I’m still currently working at the College, but now after 9 years in the field, it feels like the right move to try my hand at freelance and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
